Ares god of war in greek mythology, son of Zues and Hera. Greek name ArhV, transliteration Arês, latin spelling Ares, and his Roman Name Mars. A battle lust god, picture as bearded warrior dressed in battle arms, or a nude beardless youth with helm and spear in Greek art. Ares symbol is vulture, being god of war also known as god of blood lust or slaughter personified. Being one of the gods, Ares definitely the bad boy among gods in Mount Olympus, the hot temper one, always distrusted and longing for war. Ares had a famous affair with Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, love and fertility soon caught by Hephaistos husband of Aphrodite who invited the olympian gods and goddesses to witness the affair. Ares and Aphrodite caught in an embarrassing position and all the Gods came down to watch. Some of the gods were not happy witnessing the situation but some of the gods laughed while some commented on the beauty of Aphrodite, some gods remarked that they would trade places with Ares, and everyone laughed.
